ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Zack (He/Him/His). I don’t think I’d survive each day without at least 2 cups of coffee or espresso. I have tried decaf and… well I tried decaf. Sometimes you know when I haven’t had my morning coffee when I am obsessing over my “To-Do” lists, new coffee shops I haven’t been to yet, or whether or not my dogs barked at the squirrels this morning.

Grief and Loss Work

I work with adults navigating the complexities of grief and loss. They’re trying to make sense of the sadness, anxiety, fatigue, and feeling heartbroken. They are often questioning their identity, neglecting life’s tasks, and struggling to cope with feeling numb. Having had my own experience with this (which is going to be different from yours) I have come to learn the value of feeling seen, heard, and understood by someone who has also lived grief and come out the other side.

Chronic & Terminal Illness

I also regularly work with adults who are struggling with recently being diagnosed with chronic or terminal illnesses. Sudden illness or a chronic diagnosis can leave you feeling lost, annoyed, and overwhelmed. You might be managing fatigue, doubt, and a deep sense of loss. Together, we can navigate your emotions, explore coping mechanisms, and find ways to rebuild or redefine your life. As you move towards healing, I am here to walk alongside your journey.

Therapist Style

If you are someone who enjoys a chill relaxed attitude with a sprinkling of professionally placed curse words to help create a calming and safe space to do deeper emotional and psychological work… then you have come to the right place. Welcome to the work let’s connect further.

Training & Licensure

I received my Masters degree in International Disaster Psychology from the University of Denver's (D.U.) Graduate School of Professional Psychology, where I worked with hospice patients, sexual violence survivors, and recently resettled refugees. I did my clinical post-grad hours in community mental health, residential and PHP/IOP treatment settings (i.e. drug & alcohol, eating disorders, and brain injury). Following becoming a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)  in California (PCC7796), I started my private practice, Reed-Fier Therapy Services. I also provide therapy services through Caring Connected in Valenica and engage in supporting the alpine and climbing communities through the Climbing Grief Fund. I am currently completing my EMDR certification through the Ohio Institute of Creative Mindfulness.
